Trim the Fat from Your Holiday - Dieting Tips For Thanksgiving

Great tips from Gloria Tsang on how to cut calories from that holiday feast - in Robust Cooking. Here are a few of her tips:

  • Potatoes: Use buttermilk and light butter in the mashed potatoes (you'll save about 140 calories).
  • Pies: Use Cool Whip Free instead of whipped cream and save 90 calories per serving.
  • Turkey: Avoid eating any of the turkey skin and knock off another 50 calories.

That's almost 400 calories right there, but I bet you can come up with a few other ways to cut back. Don't dread the day, have a great time - just don't wear the feast for the next few weeks.
